water company responsible for all properties in a municipality. Water boards (Waterschappen)
are responsible for flood control, management of regional water resources
(quantity and quality) and treatment of urban wastewater.

Rubbish Removal & Recycling in Amsterdam
There are two systems for rubbish collection in Amsterdam. In some areas
there is a weekly collection and residents must leave their rubbish out. In
other areas there are underground depositories for residents to take their
household waste. Larger items can be left out for the weekly collection.
Recycling bins are available across Amsterdam. Each bin has the recycling
item clearly labelled on it.
